The meaning of the name Katara
“Catara” was the first and most ancient name designated for Qatar Peninsula in geographic and historical maps.

Katara is located between Doha's West Bay and The Pearl Qatar. It has been soft-opened in October 2010 during Doha Tribeca Film Festival, and TEDxDoha. Many Qatari organisations have their offices in Katara. These include the Qatari Society for Engineers, Qatar Fine Arts Society, Visual Art Centre, Qatar Photographic Society, Childhood Cultural Centre, Al Gannas Association, Arab Postal Stamp Museum, Theatre Society and Qatar Music Academy.
